Allstar Game-Irish Diaspora Cup Clare 1-14 NACB 1-12 Andy Fogarty (corner back), Colin White (half back) Brian O'Reilly (midfield) and Austin McKenna (half-forward) represented SF GAA in the Irish Diaspora Cup Final in early October as part of the North American County Board representative team. Unfortunately, team USA lost to the Banner men by two points at the end of an entertaining game played in Canton, South Boston. North-American All-Stars 2004 Men: Colin White (Sean Treacys), Austin McKenna (Ulster), Andy Fogarty and Brian O'Reilly (Sons of Boru) join up with the North American GAA Gaelic Football team this weekend in Boston where they take on Clare in the Irish Diaspora Cup Final. Sean Keighran (Sons of Ború) has been selected as part of the Management team Ladies: To mark the centenary of the Camogie Association in Ireland a special International competition is being organized in Dublin this month. The North American All-Star team will compete against teams from Britain, Europe and Ireland, with the competition final being played in Croke Park on October 17 as a curtain raiser to the International Rules game between Ireland and Australia. Six local camogie players and San Francisco Shamrocks coach Noel Dempsey make the trip to Ireland to join up with the rest of the North American squad. Players traveling from San Francisco include Anne Morrissey, Triona Dolphin, Ann McKiernan, Catherine Burke, Aisling Byrant, Lisa Tinker.

Junior Football Competition Update Following a meeting of representatives of the teams taking part in the San Francisco Junior Football competition this summer (save the St. Brendans who did not send a rep), it was decided that the top team at the end of the league series go forward to the final of the Junior Football competition with the second and third place team palyiing off to see who will take on the top team in the Final.

Game Day Cover Charge A number of peple have asked why is there a cover charge for entry to the games every weekend. The answer to that question is that the local Board rents the fields at Beach Chalet and Balboa Stadium from the San Francisco Parks and Recreation Dept and so the money charged at the gate goes towards that cost. Successful Coaching Course Over 50 participants took part in the Croke Park Funded Coaching Clinic held April 3rd/4th here in San Francisco. People travelled from as far away as Seattle, San Diego, Arizona and Denver for the clinic. Many thanks to the coaches from Ireland: John Tobin (Galway), Damian Coleman (Galway) and Thomas Queally (Clare). Search for a Star Winner Tommy Burns representing Martin Macks from the Haight won the Search for a Star Fundraising competition held by the Clan na Gael ladies Football club at Donagh's Bar on 20th and Lincoln recently. Tommy won $500 for his efforts. Congratulations Tommy! Many thanks to all those who supported the fundraiser. It was greatly appreciated.
