Mens Football Final

Ulster 2-08

Michael Cusacks 1-08

Ulster are the 2004 San Francisco Football League Champions following their victory over the Michael Cusacks at a windy Beach Chalet on Sunday afternoon last. Playing against the strong breeze in the first half the Ulster were down by five points at the break, but launched a second half comeback inspired by Austin McKenna at half forward. First half scores by McKenna (0-1) and Michael McClone (1-2) kept Ulster in contention at the close of the opening period. On the changeover Ulster created and converted numerous chances throughout their forward division which the Cusacks found hard to bring under control. Substitute Gerry Doyle gave Ulster the ideal start to the second half with a great goal. Further points from Eugene Cudden, Killian Feely, Austin McKenna (0-2), and Denis Murphy ensured Ulster first win in the competition for a few years.
